Answer to the Riddle

Riddle

How Many Geese?

480 geese lived at a lake. 10 percent of them had an average of two babies each just after one-eighth of one-half of them moved to another location. How many geese live at the lake now?

Riddle Solution: 540. After 30 leave (1/8 of 1/2), there are 450 geese, and 45 (10% of them) have babies, averaging two each, which adds 90 more geese (2 x 45) to the 450, for a total of 540.
